J. Murphy & Sons Limited received praise and an award at this year黑料社檚 International Pipeline and Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA) Health & Safety Awards for its outstanding Never Harm Culture Programme and continued commitment to health and safety.

Andy Ball, Managing Director of Murphy subsidiary Land & Marine, received the award on behalf of the company from Bruno Maerten of IPLOCA.

Designed, developed and delivered in-house, the Never Harm Culture Programme goes beyond traditional approaches, such as cautioning or policing behaviours, and instead focuses on the subconscious and conscious processes which form the choices and subsequent attitudes that shape people黑料社檚 behaviours. By recognising the link between choices, systems and people and placing safety at the core of the business, Murphy has achieved sustained and measurable improvements in safety performance and enhanced business efficiency.

The judges of IPLOCA黑料社檚 Health & Safety Award recognised the Programme as a well-defined initiative, which enhances safety and one that seeks to continuously improve and adapt through lessons learnt and best practice implementation. Murphy was a runner up in this category.

Yvonne Bennett, Head of Never Harm Culture Programme, commented 黑料社淲e are absolutely delighted to receive this prestigious recognition from IPLOCA for our Never Harm Culture Programme. Our industry still suffers fatalities and serious incidents every year, despite having great HSQE systems and procedures. That黑料社檚 why we黑料社檙e doing more and going beyond traditional 黑料社榦bservational measurement黑料社 approaches.

黑料社淥ur Never Harm Culture Programme is about creating compelling reasons why people should choose to follow those HSQE systems 黑料社 making them a part of everyday life here at Murphy for every single one of us. The Programme has driven sustainable improvement in health and safety performance across Murphy with our AFR currently standing at 0.08, a decrease of almost 70% between 2007 and 2014.

黑料社淪ince January 2012, we have enabled more than 5,800 employees, supply chain partners, and clients from the UK, Ireland and Australia to take part in our Never Harm Hub Day, with 68% of our own employees volunteering to become Never Harm 黑料社楥hampions黑料社 and get more actively engaged with the programme.黑料社

Andy Ball, Managing Director of Murphy subsidiary Land & Marine, received the award on behalf of the company. Andy, who was recently appointed to the IPLOCA Board to represent Europe North West, added: 黑料社淚PLOCA puts great emphasis on health, safety and the environment to promote the common interest of members, which include some of the world's major international onshore and offshore contractors, and foster a high level safety culture across the industry. Given the challenges faced in the development of remote energy resources around the world, this is an important consideration.黑料社
