OAO Severstal, one of the world黑料社檚 leading steel and steel-related mining companies, has begun shipments of 813 mm dia. pipes for the South Stream Offshore Pipeline. The pipes are manufactured at the Izhora Pipe Mill, part of Severstal黑料社檚 Russian Steel division.
The Mill黑料社檚 first batch of 39 mm wall, 12 m pipes has been shipped to Severstal黑料社檚 stevedore company, ZAO Neva-Metal (also part of the Russian Steel division), which has further transported the product to the project. Severstal plans to supply more than 40 000 t of pipes by the end of Q2.

Severstal has won two tenders and will supply around 260 000 t of 813 mm dia. pipes manufactured at the Izhora Pipe Mill for the first and the second strings of the South Stream pipeline system黑料社檚 offshore section.
