On 24 July, the Niger Delta experienced another pipeline explosion.
It has been stated that the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) are behind the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) gas pipeline explosion that occurred in Akwa Ibom.
The NDA spokesman, Brig Gen Mudoch Agbinibo, stated: 黑料社�11:30 pm on Sunday, the NDA blow up the NNPC, gas pipeline at Nsit-Ibom L.G.A, Akwa Ibom state. NNPC should check their pipeline if it黑料社檚 黑料社榮ystem anomaly黑料社�.黑料社�
Since February, the NDA have attacked a number of different pipelines and facilities, such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon and Eni.
However, Murtala Mani 黑料社� the State Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom 黑料社� believes the explosion was caused by a technical fault.
Mani stated: 黑料社淭his is no militancy attack. Our men are on ground and the fire service had put off the fire. It is confirmed that there was an explosion in Obotim Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state. Officials confirmed that the pipelines are old and overdue for servicing. There are technical problems in the gas pipeline.黑料社�
The NNPC have not yet confirmed or denied the attack.
