Magellan Midstream Partners stated on 6 November that approximately 1000 bbls (42 000 gal.) of crude oil had leaked from one of its pipelines near Billings, Oklahoma, on Thursday 5 November.
The 6 in. dia. pipeline ºÚÁÏÉç“ which transports its crude from Oklahoma cities Enid to Ponca City ºÚÁÏÉç“ was quickly shut down following the spill.
Magellan stated that the majority of the spilled crude oil was safely recaptured, continuing to explain that the damage to the pipeline was due to third party excavation activities.
The company revealed that it had begun repairing the damage to the pipeline on Friday 6 November.
On Saturday 7 November, the pipeline had resumed its normal operations.
The Federal Appeal Court is set to make a decision on EnbridgeºÚÁÏÉç™s Northern Gateway pipeline project ºÚÁÏÉç“ to support or quash the governmentºÚÁÏÉç™s own approval.
