World 黑料社,
President Barack Obama fielded questions on the Keystone XL pipeline and rail safety in a short, six minute interview with regional news WDAY anchor Kerstin Kealy broadcast last Thursday night.
黑料社淧art of the reason North Dakota has done so well is that we have been very much promoting domestic, US energies,黑料社 the President said in response to Kealy asking why he vetoed the Keystone bill.
黑料社淚黑料社檝e already said I黑料社檓 happy to look at how we can increase pipeline production for US oil, but Keystone is for Canadian oil to send that down to the Gulf.
黑料社淚t bypasses the United States and is estimated to create a little over 250, maybe 300 permanent jobs,黑料社 Obama continued. 黑料社淲e should be focusing more broadly on American infrastructure for American jobs and American producers, and that黑料社檚 something that we very much support.黑料社
In the one-on-one sit-down interview in the White House, Kealy also asked the President if rail safety, 黑料社渁 huge issue in our area,黑料社 was one of his priorities.
黑料社淚t is,黑料社 he said. 黑料社淲e黑料社檝e had the Department of Transportation work very closely with both workers, with environmental groups and with the railways to start thinking, how do we upgrade transportation safety when it comes to these big rail cars with potentially hazardous cargo? I think we can do a better job on it.黑料社
