Potential appeal in the pipeline for New York黑料社檚 Constitution project

After the rejection of New York黑料社檚 Constitution 120 mile natural gas pipeline project, the Constitution Pipeline Company 黑料社 a joint venture between Cabot Oil & Gas, Williams Partners and Piedmont Natural Gas Company 黑料社 intend to appeal the state decision and reverse the denial, claiming 黑料社渢he New York State Department of Environmental Conservation黑料社檚 (NYSDEC) stated rationale for the denial includes flagrant misstatements and inaccurate allegations, and appears to be driven more by New York state politics than by environmental science.黑料社

Responding to the rejection, the company stated: "Contrary to NYSDEC statements, the company was not informed of any outstanding issues that it had not agreed to address as a condition of the permit. [All stream crossings were] fully vetted with NYSDEC ... We are appalled with the comments that Constitution failed to provide sufficient data ... In fact, during the past nine months, weekly inquiries were made to the department to ensure no additional data was needed.黑料社

Recently, API Executive Director for Market Development, Marty Durbin, also expressed his disapproval of the rejection, believing the pipeline rejection to be another example of politics at its worst. "This decision will cost the state thousands of jobs and is an assault on families and businesses.黑料社

Similarly, Terry O'Sullivan, General President of LIUNA, voiced his opinion on the denial, noting the permit rejection was both a disappointment and an insult to New York and its residents, who would have benefitted from jobs and affordable clean energy.

Nevertheless, in a recent statement, the Constitution Pipeline Company declared:聽"In spite of NYSDEC's unprecedented decision, we remain absolutely committed to building this important energy infrastructure project, which will create an important connection between consumers and reliable supplies of clean, affordable natural gas.黑料社
